Student Accomodation

The Studentenwerk Aachen provides in Aachen and Juelich in total 4.352 beds in 20  student residence buildings. Different types of accomodation are available: Single rooms, apartments, single rooms in shared flats and even small flats for young families. The cost of rent is related to the room type and depends on size and interior.
We take care that our buildings are occupied by a well-balanced mix of gender and nationalities. It is highly recommended to apply as early as possible for a room. If all rooms are occupied the student has to search for private accomodation.
I have found from experience that you should submit your room application one year in advance. For international students the waiting lists for every building are open in the first week of every quarter. As an international student you can apply to all the buildings within this period. If you would like to rent a room from August 2007 onwards, you should apply in the first week of July 2006. For most of the buildings it is sufficient to fill out an online-form, the corresponding links are provided here.
 
For the other buildings you can obtain the application forms either at the related student rental service unit or at the Studentenwerk Aachen under the following email-address:

If a room has not been assigned to you one quarter after you have submitted your application, you have to contact the student rental service unit of each building in order to confirm your current need for accomodation.
