Family Visas

If you have children and/or a spouse still living abroad, they may have apply for a family visa to join you Germany, provided you have a received a residence permit for the length of your studies in Germany. If you subsequently decide to withdrawal from the university and return to your home country, the family visa of your children and/or spouse will expire and they will be required to return as well. Those who come to Germany with a family visa are not authorized to work or study at university. If the spouse coming to join you plans to work or study at university, he or she must apply for the appropriate visa before entering Germany.
